□ Name: Viper/Mammon
□ Journal: mudadayo
□ Series: Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
□ Canon point: Post series
□ History: http://reborn.wikia.com/wiki/Viper
□ Personality: Like most of Varia, Mammon is named after a Satan and based on one of the Seven Deadly Sins. His in particular is Greed. For the most part Mammon only thinks of himself and refuses to do anything at all unless he's getting paid for it. Be it a mission or just simple side work for his other teammates, he always expects a fee. The moment someone, such as when Skull was paying him to use illusions for him, mentions that they no longer have the money to pay him he leaves and says his work is done then. This even applies to when Byakuran damaged his organs when stabbed, charing him 10,000,000 yen an hour to use his illusions to keep him alive. However, there are exceptions to this rule. He does have a sense of duty at least as he works for Reborn fulfilling his duties as the Mist Arcobaleno by testing Tsuna and further by training Chrome for her trial. However, he doesn't do so without complaint and stating several times that he hates working without getting paid. Nonetheless, he does it anyways because he knows he's bound by duty to do it despite the fact, as shown by Verde, that he could have ignored the summons. Verde, under the same oath as Mammon, refused to participate in either of the times when they were summoned for duty. This at least shows that despite caring so much for money Mammon has at least some sense of honor in the fact that he upholds his duty even if he hates the Arcobaleno curse.
Which also brings about the fact that Mammon is, if anything, loyal to those he believes deserves it. Basically limiting it to not only the Arcobaleno but more so even to the Varia Assassination Squad he works with. It might be because Varia pays him well, but whatever the reason during the Ring Battles he gives it everything he can just so that his Boss Xanxus can reach his dream of gaining the title of Vongola X. The specific reasons are unknown, but he shows more loyalty towards Varia than the Arcobaleno in the fact that he changed his name from Viper to Mammon, and gets annoyed when any of the other Arcobaleno refer to him as Viper. He even went as far as creating a special chain that concealed the power of his pacifier so he wouldn't be detected by the others, only revealing it when he needed the power boost to fight. Not only that, but he puts his full faith in his team when he asks them for their help in participating in the Rainbow Battles which was supposedly supposed to be his chance to win his curse lifted. He even goes as far as spending his entire fortune on rings for Varia, showing just how much he trusts and believes in them to help him.
He's shown to not care about much, but he has some patience as despite it all it appears that he's actually friends with the brat prince of the group, Belphegor. The blond is annoying, bratty, spoiled and unnecessarily violent and childish. Even so, it shows on a few occasions that he's the one Mammon talks to more than the others and even allows Bel to carry him around and use him as a sort of stuffed animal as the prince calls him. He always complains and says he'll charge him, but allows it nonetheless showing that he tolerates Bel more than he does others and even on several occasions rides on top of Bel's head. It even goes as far as he allowed Bel to come with him to Japan when he was summoned for his Arcobaleno duties and even had the prince help him in his trial and bought him sushi as a reward for helping. Bel of course states later that the promise of sushi was the only reason he came to Japan in the first place, which implies that Mammon was actually the one who asked Bel to come with him. Though that could have just been because he knew the prince would want to come but would have been stubborn and not say anything about it out loud.
Other than Bel, he shows to have strong opinions on the rare matters that he feels are important. He's searched endlessly for a cure to his curse ever since he was turned into a baby and becomes very passionate during the Rainbow Trials when he believes he's fighting for a chance to become normal again. His usual cool demeanor fluctuates under situations he's invested in, freely showing more emotion than he usually does. Particularly around his fellow Arcobaleno Fon, exclaiming that he hates Fon and the way he makes it sound like martial arts is superior and believes he made fun of illusions in the process and even on top of that stating that he disapproved of Mammon's greed. It was all unintentional by Fon, but Mammon firmly believed that it was on purpose and refused to listen to reason on the matter. Not just with Fon, but he also gets into heated arguments (some that escalate to fighting) with the other Arcobaleno when they're trying to make decisions regarding their actions in the battles.
The main thing about Mammon though is his intelligence and maturity. Out of all the members of the Varia, he's the most likely to keep his cool in most situations and throughout all the other battles he's the one who narrates and explains each technique of the others. The fact that he can not only use such powerful illusions that require mass amounts of focus and concentration but he was also researching to find a way to break the Arcobaleno Curse shows just how sharp minded his is. Also the fact that he's part of the seven most powerful infants known as the Arcobaleno, and also a member of the elite special assassination squad Varia that works for the most powerful mafia family in the world shows that he's a force not to be taken lightly. Though he does have his weaknesses as he's physically weak without his powers. When he finds out that Rokudo Mukuro is not only an illusionist but also highly skilled at martial combat he states that it's blasphemy for an illusionist to combine illusions with physical combat. Though that's his downfall in the end as he gets so frustrated and nervous fighting Mukuro that his illusions are overcome and he's defeated.
□ Age: Unknown. He appears to be early-mid twenties but spent at least ten or more years in the body of an infant. His age, or how long he was an infant, is never clarified.
□ Gender: Male
□ Appearance: Mammon is not only short with a thin build, but also androgynous to the point of his gender being up for debate for a while in the beginning even when his adult form was finally revealed. He dresses himself in all black robes with a hood and mantle, his Varia ones having a leather hood and mantle with a Varia symbol patch. On his face are two purple triangle tattoos, one under each eye. For reference:

□ Abilities/Powers: Mammon's a first class psychic who eventually added illusions to his repertoire. He has the ability to levitate, use telepathy and can dowse things through photographs by sneezing into a piece of paper; the spit or mucus that sticks to the paper shows a map leading to the person/object he's wishing to find. He has powerful illusions and 'real' illusions at his disposal as well and is able to emit Dying Will Flames from his body which strengthen the power of his illusions. He also has the ability to fly, aided by his companion Phantasma or even without his help.
More specifically, he also has an ability to create a rule on whoever an illusion is cast on. If the rule is broken by that person, they're instantly damaged with a multitude of deep cuts. This however can backfire as if he is inside the illusion as well, the rule also applies to him.
Tentacles are usually his most common illusion used, but his strongest one unleashes several large blind eel creatures with large mouths and sharp teeth.
□ Personal Items: Phantasma (his frog partner that can transform itself into a floating salamander when Mammon releases his full powers. Until he earns his powers back, it'll stay a frog.)
